Air Conditioning Installation donated to Glasgow hospice

Andrews Air Conditioning recently completed a complimentary installation at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. The installation is a donation in memory of Alasdair McLean, whose long and successful career with the Andrews Sykes group spanned 33 years, latterly as National Installations Manager for Andrews Air Conditioning. The project involved the air conditioning of the Pharmacy Room at the hospice to ensure the safe storage and maximum shelf life of vital, temperature-sensitive medicines. The space presented particular problems due to its large area of glazing making it prone to significant daily and seasonal temperature changes.

Making a recent visit to the hospice with Elaine McLean, Alasdair’s wife, Andy Whiteley Divisional Director of Andrews Air Conditioning commented, ‘I’m proud we’ve been able to provide such practical support to the amazing work which is done here. The ideal year-round solution was a wall-mounted split air conditioning system capable of providing efficient cooling in the summer and also cost effective heating in the winter’. Andrews Air Conditioning will also donate a twice-yearly planned maintenance contract for the equipment throughout its life. The dedicated team at the Prince & Princess of Wales hospice are delighted with the installation which contributed to their marvellous fundraising efforts to raise £10 million for a new building.
