Toshiba

As a world leader in electronics, Toshiba is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and innovation in all of the industries in which the company is a major player. These principles apply to the air conditioning division for which Toshiba continues to develop market leading products suitable for residential and commercial applications.

Toshiba has a passion for innovation and constantly works to ensure that their air conditioners help protect the environment while delivering reassurance and reliability to users around the world. Toshiba’s environmental management system has earned ISO 14001 certification and leads the industry with many environmental awards, including the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Prize in Japan. Toshiba has also received international praise for designing energy-efficient products that operate on environmentally responsible R410A refrigerant.

All Toshiba systems are designed with an emphasis on energy efficiency, reliability, aesthetics and ease of installation. In 2012 Toshiba Air Conditioning achieved a carbon neutral status for its UK business following an intensive programme of carbon reduction and certified carbon offsetting.

As might be expected from one of the world’s leading air conditioning manufacturers, the Toshiba product range is extensive. With its slim-line design, the Digital Inverter high-wall unit is ideal for offices, restaurants and other applications where elegance as well as efficiency is required. The unit offers high performance operation using digital inverter control, enhanced filtration system, auto louvre mode for optimum air distribution and a choice of infra-red and wired controls. The units are suitable for use with either new R410A refrigerant pipework, or indeed can be used as ‘replacement technology’ enabling the re-use of existing R22 or R407c pipework.

Toshiba’s Super Digital Inverter Series of flush-mounted ceiling cassettes and compact ceiling cassettes are efficient yet unobtrusive, easily blending in with any room interior. They deliver high performance whilst helping to lower your overall power consumption and carbon footprint. Ideal for use within suspended ceilings, the new ceiling panel offers uniform air distribution providing total comfort and maximum control.

The Digital Inverter series of ducted units can be discreetly positioned in the walls or ceiling, with air being delivered via ducting rather than directly from the indoor units. Available in cooling-only, cooling/heating and high static pressure versions (if longer duct lengths are required), they are ideal for hotels, banks and similar applications where very low noise levels are specified.

The Digital and Super Digital Inverter series of ceiling suspended units are specifically designed to be discreetly positioned under the ceiling where there is little or no ceiling void to accommodate a cassette system. They are ideal for offices, classroom and restaurants where very low noise levels are required.

The Toshiba floor-mounted console units are an innovative and compact unit that can be easily installed on the floor and in low-wall applications. The units fit perfectly under window sills or in low ceiling attics and the elegant designs fit any room style or decoration. The automatic louvre control and low noise levels are the key characteristics of this state-of-the-art unit and the unique floor heating function delivers powerful air flow at low level for a uniform and comfortable room temperature. The Super Digital Inverter Multi-Split system connects two, three or four indoor units of the same type and capacity to one outdoor unit to ensure improved air distribution in a larger area. The units operate as a group sharing the same operating conditions to achieve the desired temperature.

Suitable for larger, more complex applications, the SHRMi Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) three-pipe system is designed to deliver simultaneous cooling and heating in large buildings such as offices, shops, hotels and hospitals, recovering energy from areas of excess heat and redistributing it to parts of the building requiring more heating.

Toshiba’s latest generation of VRF air conditioners has becomes the new industry benchmark in the competitive three-pipe VRF sector. The SHRMi series is the most efficient product currently on the market at part-load conditions boasting a world-beating Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) and Co-efficient of Performance (COP) which translates into a class-leading Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER). A key to its exceptional performance is the use of up to three super-efficient DC twin rotary compressors in each outdoor unit, with dedicated vector-controlled inverters. Toshiba also utilises a separate inverter for each compressor, giving ultra-precise control of rotation speed, exactly matching output to load. The advanced technology results in a starting current of just 1Amp per system, a major advantage where the power supply is restricted.

As part of Toshiba’s environmental commitment, the company now offers a fast and easy way to upgrade your current air conditioning system and to safely dispose of and recycle existing units. Toshiba have therefore introduced their ‘End of Life Recycling’ service, enabling customers to arrange for the disposal of their old equipment. The service is available to all customers direct or via Toshiba’s accredited installers and, as a measure of their commitment to this ‘green initiative’, it is a free of charge service. Andrews Air Conditioning Services has worked in close co-operation with Toshiba for many years and is an Accredited Installer.
