Andrews Air Conditioning Services works with the security and custodial service providers across the UK to ensure the reliable and energy-efficient running of their air conditioning in a wide range of facilities such as reception centres, custody suites and medical facilities.

When a local authority in the north of England was refurbishing its IT suite, the project manager approached Andrews Air Conditioning Services for advice. The existing facility was cooled by a series of ageing, ceiling-mounted underslung split systems. These were to be replaced with a floor mounted upflow packaged system. Due to the nature of the transactions handled by the IT facility it was critical that zero downtime could be tolerated. Therefore a detailed programme of works was devised and implemented which ensured sufficient cooling capacity at all times, including an acceptable level of redundancy.
