Introduction
Hotels guests and users of leisure facilities now routinely expected such facilities to be air conditioned. A gym or sports complex that doesn’t offer air conditioning is increasingly unusual. In the past air conditioning may have been installed in restaurants and conference suites but now it is becoming standard in every area including guest rooms. Ever-increasing competition in all areas of the hotel and leisure sector means customers have a huge choice of venues and it's a fact that bars, clubs and hotels not offering a comfortable environment in all areas of their premises soon experience a damaging drop in business.
Case Studies
A group of boutique hotels had been experiencing problems with the air conditioning systems in one of their premises. A succession of service contractors had unsuccessfully attempted to diagnose the faults and carry out the repairs. It was only after Andrews Air Conditioning Services were called in that things began to change. Our experts soon traced the reasons for an expensive series of premature compressor failures back to substandard practices by the original installation contractor. Once remedied the system performed better than it ever had since it was originally commissioned and Andrews Air Conditioning Services were awarded the maintenance contract across the client’s others sites.
A national hotel chain, which had added to its portfolio of locations by acquisition over many years, needed guidance on R22 replacement, Air Conditioning Energy Efficiency Inspections and F-Gas compliance. Recognising that they had limited in-house expertise to survey their sites and create an asset register they approached Andrews Air Conditioning Services for help. We surveyed every site and developed a comprehensive record of the manufacturer, age, condition, refrigerant gas type and volume for their entire air conditioning asset base. This enabled a planned maintenance regime to be implemented together with a structured, budgeted programme for the replacement of ageing systems.
